Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 20, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Follower Find LLC ("FollowSpy", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your data when you use the FollowSpy mobile app for iOS.
This policy covers the app only. The FollowSpy website has a separate privacy policy and a separate subscription. If you use our website, see the website Privacy Policy.
By using the app, you agree to the practices described below. See also our Mobile App Terms of Service.
1. What We Collect
We collect only the data we need to run and improve the app.
Device information. Device type, operating system version, app version, IP address, and session data.
Usage data. Screens viewed, taps, and interactions inside the app.
Account data. If you create an account: your email address and your subscription status.
Instagram search data. The public Instagram usernames you search or choose to track. We send these to our Instagram data providers (see Section 3) to retrieve publicly available profile, follower, and following information.
Support conversations. Messages you send us for help.
Advertising and attribution data. With your permission, your device's advertising identifier (Apple's IDFA) and install and attribution data — for example, which ad or campaign led you to install FollowSpy — collected through our attribution partner, AppsFlyer.
What we do not collect
- We never collect your payment details. Subscriptions are purchased through the Apple App Store. Apple processes the payment. We never see or store your card number, bank details, or billing address.
- We never collect Instagram credentials. We do not collect or store your Instagram username, password, or access tokens. You never log into Instagram through FollowSpy, and we never ask you to log into anyone else's account.
- We do not access private Instagram accounts. We retrieve publicly available information only. Viewing Instagram stories through FollowSpy never requires you — or the account you are looking up — to log into Instagram.
- We do not collect data from children. The app is for users 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us data, email us at support@followspy.ai and we will delete it.
2. How We Use It
We use the data we collect to:
- Run the app, including retrieving the Instagram profile, follower, and following data you request.
- Improve app performance and user experience.
- Send you transactional or service-related messages.
- Measure the performance of our advertising, and attribute installs and purchases to the campaigns that drove them.
- Prevent fraud and abuse.
- Meet our legal obligations.
3. Sharing of Data
We do not sell your personal data.
Instagram data provider. To return lookup results, we work with a third-party provider, SocialAPI, that retrieves publicly available Instagram profile, follower, and following information on our behalf. SocialAPI receives only the username being looked up. It never receives your account, email, or payment information.
Apple. Your subscription is sold and billed by Apple. Apple tells us your subscription status so we can give you access. Apple's handling of your data is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Service providers. We share limited data with providers who help us run the app, including RevenueCat (subscription management) and AppsFlyer (attribution), plus our hosting provider. These partners are contractually required to protect your data.
Advertising partners. Where you have granted tracking permission, attribution data such as your advertising identifier and install source may be shared with advertising partners including Meta, Google, and TikTok, solely to measure and attribute our own ad campaigns. Under California law this may be considered "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can stop it at any time by turning off tracking permission (see Section 4). We do not share this data for any other party's independent advertising purposes.
Legal. We may disclose data if required by law, subpoena, or in connection with a legal claim or investigation.
4. Tracking and Advertising
We use mobile SDKs, including AppsFlyer, for analytics, attribution of installs and in-app purchases, and performance monitoring.
On iOS, we ask for your permission before accessing your device's advertising identifier, in line with Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework. You can change your choice at any time:
Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking
If you decline, the app still works. We simply cannot attribute your install to a campaign.
5. Data Retention
We keep your data only as long as we need it:
- Account data: while your account is active, then up to 30 days after deletion.
- Search and usage data: up to 24 months.
- Support conversations: up to 24 months.
- Billing and tax records: as long as the law requires.
6. Deleting Your Account and Data
You can delete your account and its data from inside the app:
Settings → Account → Delete Account
You can also email support@followspy.ai and we will delete your data. Deleting your account does not cancel your App Store subscription — cancel that in Settings → your name → Subscriptions → FollowSpy.
7. Security
We use technical and organizational measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, theft, or alteration. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct or delete your data.
- Object to processing, or ask us to restrict it.
- Withdraw consent at any time, including revoking tracking permission in your device settings.
- Ask for a copy of your data in a portable format.
If you are in the EEA or UK, these rights come from the GDPR. If you are in California, they come from the CCPA/CPRA, and we will not treat you differently for exercising them.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@followspy.ai. We respond within the time the law requires.
9. International Users
We are based in the United States, and your data may be stored and processed there or in other countries. Where we transfer personal data out of the EEA or UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. If we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above and post the new version on this page. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
